Northern Blast Sled Dogs

Large Group, Yard Fun

When sled dogs aren't out on training runs they get time to socialize with each other in the dog yard. This video shows a large group of 14 dogs, ages 1.5 to 8 years old, all getting along in the yard. These dogs are all related to one another and they all run together on the gangline. This socialization with each other is another important part of their training. Putting together a large group like this isn't always possible and I have to pay closer attention to their activity. Most often they are in groups a little bit smaller but I always find it fun to watch the dynamics. You will see dogs playing together, others spending alone time, and some will be chewing on various chew toys scattered around the yard (without fighting over them) and I enjoy watching their behaviors.
